Eric & Casey mash on the Juno (Photo by Jeff)

Tracking is now 99.9% complete on our new songs, “Amigos” and “Connie.” They’ve really taken shape!

Our gratitude to last night’s ace session man, Cliff Kane, who came in and really put his stamp on “Amigos.” Cliff is a signature part of the Paperplanes‘ sound, and is hands down the finest pedal steel player in Long Beach. He’s been kind enough to sit in with us on a couple of shows in the past, and we’re especially glad to have finally got him on a track!

After Cliff took his leave, Eric’s trusty Juno synthesizer got a workout as we pushed “Connie” into kraut-y new places. Dunno how it will turn out in the end, but it’s going to sound BIG.

Next up: mixing!
